There is no doubt in my mind that making money from betting is easier now than it was the first time I tried it.
Back then the only info I had was that which was available in the racing papers and every race had to be read, there were no tools to quickly narrow down selections and no websites to quickly find additional data.
On top of that we had to bet with a 20% disadvantage in the shape of the bookmakers overround.
These days we have new problems. We have all the info we could use, but that’s the problem with so much data there is no time to read it.
The best solution to this overload problem is to have a method or service that will shortlist selections for you.
There are a number of ratings services available which will shortlist selections for you, at a cost. Or you could use your own ratings method to create your shortlist.
One such is the Value Rating Method that underpins the Puntology form reading course and this site is now giving away a cut down version of their VRR method at http://www.puntology.com
Whatever way you do it I recommend that you only deal with a particular type of race, to cut down the number that you analyse and that you use a method to shortlist the runners in those races so you only carry out detailed analysis of a small subset of the runners in the race.
