Auto Betting Lab

Our experiment laying at odds smaller than Betfair SP has been running for two and a half months now in its current form and its proving to be very frustrating.

You can see from the graph that it is bobbing along with some good profit spikes but the dips are making it look like a break even situation over the long term.

There have been some very good bets along the way. Twice I have layed a horse at 1.1 which has gone on to lose, which gives an 8.88 profit after commission. One more of those and the whole test would be in profit. I don’t like to give up on a method too early but I think its definitely time for some more tweaking.

Cheltenham ante-post bets 2009 By Ricky Taylor

March 30, 2009 Backing

Grand National Trends

March 25, 2009 Backing

In 2007 I wrote an article for Betting School on the Grand National. This outlined the details of a system that I had developed for the great race which had previously shown an uncanny ability for identifying many winning and placed horses in the race. Followers of the system received immediate and excellent reward for working out the systems selections in 2007.

Trainer Trends for March

March 23, 2009 Betting School

In the jump race season the month of March is a make or break month for trainers. The month hosts the Cheltenham festival, which is the high point of the whole season. This is the meeting when winners really count and the big stables will aim their best horses at this one four-day meet. However, the festival is just four of 31 days in the month and for followers of monthly trainer trends it is the performance of a trainer over the whole month that really counts.
