Bet Scheduler (Free to Club Members)
The Bet Scheduler is a tool for placing your bets at pre set time before the off. If for example you want to bet on the Greyhounds but you won’t be available at the off you are pretty stuck.
You could ask for a price in the morning but you would have to be pretty good at estimating what the odds would likely be. The greyhound markets aren’t really efficient until a minute or maybe two before the official off time.
What this means is that morning prices are un-bettable because the market will be trading at 200% minimum and available amounts to match will be less than £10.
If you use the Bet Scheduler then you can make your selection earlier in the day, set your stake, set your minimum and maximum prices and decide at how many minutes or seconds before the off that you want your bet placed.
How to use Bet Scheduler:
When you have installed the software and first load it up you will see your Betfair log in box at the top left enter your Betfair credentials here and log in.
Then use the left hand menu to navigate to the event you want to bet in and click on that event to get the betting input box, which you can see on the next page.
You can see that each item has a ? next to it, you can click this for help with that particular setting. I’ll run through the main settings here.
First off choose your selection from the drop down box and the Back or Lay button. Type in your stake and adjust the minimum and maximum prices that you are prepared to take.
You can if you prefer stake with a percentage of your current Betfair balance and to do this tick the labeled box.
Next you have a number of options regarding which price you want to take, the ? will explain how each of the options works.
Next set your order start time. At the time that you set the Bet Scheduler will start checking the market and will keep checking until your parameters are met and the bet can be placed or until the off. The Update Period determines how often the market is checked.
Finally we have two more settings Allow Order to Post In Play will carry the bet over into play if not matched and Auto Update for Reduction Factors will adjust your price parameters to take account of any withdrawals from the race (horse races only).
Once you click Submit your bet will appear in the main screen and you can leave the software to place the bet for you.
You can now make further bets by clicking another event or you can bet more selections in the same race by clicking that race again.
