January was a month decimated by the weather and so whilst we had a list of trainers to follow there wasn’t much jump racing to follow! Last year February lost a number of fixtures to the elements, but nevertheless there would appear to be some names to latch on to, and a few interesting names to avoid.
For the benefit of new readers I’ll just spend a few lines restating the methodology behind my monthly trainer trends. In order to produce meaningful results I’ve only considered the results from the 2008 and 2009 jump race seasons. Furthermore, I’ve excluded those trainers that had fewer than four winners in the month in question, and had fewer than 30 runners.
In Table 1 I’ve presented my results. The Table is ordered by the rate of return (Profit/Loss %).
