Value Football Betting

by admin on October 1, 2010

If you want to make regular profits from football betting then you will like what I have for you today, today I am going to outline a method that you can use to create your own football system.

In my opinion whether you are into football or not if you are a systems or a stats man you should be analyzing football.

There is ample data for all the professional leagues and the data goes back many years.

What this means is that it is relatively straightforward for us to devise a system and then check it against real data to see if it has legs.

These days rather than just create a system that finds winning bets or lay bets it is better instead to find a value price for any outcome and then make our back or lay depending on which way the value lies.

Of course with only three outcomes we have always been able to lay football teams or the draw since the bookies allowed singles (for younger readers it used to be that the bookies wouldnt allow us to bet singles on football outright results!)

The big advantage that Betfair has given us is the smaller over-rounds which give us many more value opportunities.

So my message today is that the way to success is through determining a value price for every outcome of every match.

Once you have these prices it is then just a case of trawling through the prices to see where we can find value.

Working this way we will find many more bets than a straightforward system and we need bets to get turnover because as long as we have a positive ROI the more we turnover the more money we make.

Ok, so that sounded easy, but how do we find the value prices I hear you ask.

Well it will take a bit of work initially but once you have done the research you will have a quick method to rate any match. (Betting School members can find a done for you ready reckoner based on 8 years results here)

So all you have to do is to find a way to rate any football match based on the readily available stats.

Let’s say that we decide that goal superiority is our rating method.

October 27, 2009 Horse Racing

Betfair works similar to the traditional bookmakers betting market, but there are fundamental differences. Just like the main betting market the odds shorten if the majority of bettors are backing a player/horse to win. The hardest thing for new users to understand about Betfair is the fact that…
