BETTING PRODUCT REVIEWS

by Kelly on May 22, 2011

The latest instalment from our team of testers who have been keeping an eye on the world of commercially sold systems and betting products.

First up is Rod who after the sad end of the excellent Adrian Massey ratings has been looking over what could very well turn out to be the next really useful research resource.

I have been using Horseracebase.com off and on during the last month or so to see what this relatively new site has to offer. In the past I have used most of the online rating services including Timeform I, The Sportsbook and currently Raceform Interactive. As anyone who has used any of these will testify it takes a while to find yourself around the site and work out how to best utilise what’s on offer depending on whether your aim is for backing and laying purposes or if you prefer to test out systems.

Change Over Time Again – Part Three

April 25, 2010 Horse Racing

The following nine factors make flat racing ideal lay territory, especially on favourites, which offer the least liability. Consider them carefully. 1. When the Flat season is in full swing there is far too much racing on offer therefore it pays to specialize. No one can hope to look at five cards a day effectively. [...]

One method serious backers employ is to monitor the trainers ability to get their horse ready early season. They do this using the Racing Post – STATISTICS research tool, which is available here: www.racingpost.com/horses/seasonal_stats_home.sd Once you get on the STATISTICS home page click on the TRAINER tab. For a few months now Grey Horse Bot owners have been able to test a system (“Make a Living”) that bets on two horses in four races a day. One runner is a lay bet and the other is a back bet. The system was a pairing of two ideas. We appeared to be able [...]

There Are No Certainties In Betting – Part 4

March 6, 2010 Horse Racing

Conclusion Value is the key Back high, lay low on your selections at all times. If you can’t get the price or reasonably close to the max/min price you want, walk away. You can comply with every other rule in the betting book, but without value you’ll lose long-term. Value as a concept is an [...]

There Are No Certainties In Betting – Part 3

Pro Tip From The Race Specialist Losing sequences are an inevitable part of all betting. When either backing or laying accepting this fact is part of being successful. Most punters have experienced losing sequences when laying at much bigger odds. This usually has a lasting psychological effect, and they don’t easily forget how emotionally painful [...]

There Are No Certainties In Betting – Part 2

February 27, 2010 Horse Racing

Brought to you by Jonathan Burgess of Race Specialist Everyone has different opinions about which horses make the best lays. Unfortunately there is no “absolute” right, or wrong way. My personal preference is one which doesn’t involve too much risk to my betting bank. Therefore a good place to start is to identify favourites trading [...]
