I’m very pleased today to announce a new column for the Betting School site which will provide winning insights from a top tipster.
Each weekday Carl Nicholson will run us through a race to demonstrate the methods he uses to find winners.
Methods that have been highly successful for his very popular ITV tips service.
Pasted below his today’s analysis and selections, check back each day to make sure you don’t miss out.
When approaching an all weather race I always like to look at recent placed course or course winning form as my first starting point.
With that in mind I now have a starting list of Koeman , Sleeping Lion , Lexington Empire , Landue , Western Duke , Ilhabela Fact , Wimpole Hall.
Now I have my starting point of horses to be interested in I can now narrow down the field some more. I don’t like backing horses that have won last time out in handicaps so that would REMOVE Lexington Empire and leave me with Koeman , Sleeping Lion , Landue , Western Duke , Ilhabela Fact , Wimpole Hall
My next selection process is to remove any horse that has not run in the last 90 days for exposed runners i.e ones that have had 5 runs or more in their lifetime. So now we have Koeman , Sleeping Lion , Ilhabela Fact , Wimpole Hall
My next process at an all weather course would be to look at how the draw plays out , so which stalls are favoured. At Kempton I think low drawn runners are favoured over this distance , but all the remaining runners have a fair enough draw so no change to the list from that
Next up I will look at trainer form , so who has some recent winners on the board . The trainer of Wimpole Hall has gone a long time without a winner so that one is removed . So this leaves me with Koeman , Sleeping Lion & Ilhabela Fact
My final selection process would be to look at the Racing Post odds forecast and remove any horse that is outside of the first 5 in the betting forecast , so that removes Ilhabela Fact
My final two selections for this race are Koeman & Sleeping Lion and we could back both to return a decent enough profit !
