Champions League Preview & Free Tips

The Weekend Bulletin (Sat 9th Feb’18)
No sooner has the UK weather relented then along comes a major crisis for the racing industry in the form of an equine flu outbreak which has caused the BHA to cancel all the cards until at least the middle of next week!

The Insiders Club does have a keen focus on horse racing and the regular features can adapt to covering the Irish meetings in the interim but alongside those there is also plenty to keep members busy with on the punting front.

For example since May of last year Mark Foley has been sharing his Golf Tips for the PGA & European Tour events and these have been a fruitful source of big priced winners and placers. We also have Gary “the Boz” coverage of the Women’s Tennis Grand Slams and also our uniquely placed football contributor, resides in Murcia Spain, keeps us abreast of all of the key goings on in La Liga which many consider to be the best football league on the planet.

For the brand new edition of the Insiders Club Members Report (Issue 170) “Our Man in Spain” provides a comprehensive preview of the knockout phase of the Champions League which gets underway during the early part of next week. In addition to discussing the prospects for the Spanish contingent of Barca, Real and Atletico he also covers the remaining 5 ties with in depth analysis and some suggested outcomes that may well surprise a few.

Here are a couple of Andrew’s previews from the Round of 16 ties….

Liverpool v Bayern Munich
Liverpool will start the game as slight favourites even allowing for the suspended Virgil van Dijk who will miss the 1st leg at Anfield. Bayern are not the force they were, yet will carry a huge physiological threat to Jurgen Klopp who only beat the Bundesliga giants 9 times in 29 encounters during his time with Mainz and Dortmund.

A glance at the Bundesliga table will tell you the time is ripe for Klopp to take what would be a treasured scalp but I’m tipping the psychological edge to prove decisive.

Bayern Munich to qualify 19/20 Gen (Betway Evens)

Man Utd v PSG
This tie now takes on a whole new perspective given the incredible turnaround at Old Trafford since the departure of Mourinho. I for one was not surprised that United turned the corner immediately once this super talented squad were given the freedom to ‘play’.

Neymar’s absence will be a huge blow to PSG who, as mentioned earlier have recently suffered their first defeat of the season in Ligue 1. Pogba will relish the return to Paris and I’m tipping United’s season to go from strength to strength.

Man Utd to qualify 7/4 Gen
