The news is beginning to filter through as to how the various nations are going to try and return to some form of normality. This includes the sporting action with Germany the latest to try and clarify how their horse racing may resume. As it stands the equine action in Germany could get underway on May 1 with prize-money cuts of 50% during a new six-week programme behind closed doors.
Deutscher Galopp has chosen locations with the intention of keeping travel to a minimum, with the proposed fixtures beginning at Hanover and running until the meeting at Munich on June 15. Group and Listed races appear on the revised schedule with the German 1,000 Guineas targeted for June 7 at Dusseldorf.
Meanwhile the BHA continues its preparations for racing to return with government backing at the earliest possible moment, including the potential use of behind-closed-doors ‘hub’ racecourses such as Newmarket, Newcastle and Lingfield for extended periods. For now, the date for GB’s racing return remains May 1.
In the meantime we start the new week off with stateside racing from Fonner Park and Will Rogers Down and if the Guest Tipster Service contacts find anything of interest for today, the selections will be added to the forum thread around 3pm this afternoon, so be sure to check your inbox for the email alert.
Carl’s sources did manage to find a winner with Sunday’s selection, Blazing Desire, winning the last race at Gulfstream. Overall after a little over 2 weeks the US coverage is running a couple of points down so no real harm done and it will only take one or two more winners to get back into profit.
Many thanks for your continued support and stay safe!
