Daily Bulletin Tues 7th April

Following on from the BHA’s announcement that there would be no National Hunt racing until July 1st Brian Hughes was finally crowned champion jump jockey for the first time in his career.

Hughes rode 141 winners during the latest season to beat defending champion Richard Johnson, who finished 19 adrift with 122 winners. Of course the outcome may have been different had Johnson not suffered a broken arm in mid-February.

In the other NH championship categories, Nicky Henderson was named champion trainer, Jonjo O’Neil jnr was crowned champion conditional and JP McManus was named champion owner.

Yesterday’s selections from the current Guest Tipster Service, Value Backing Naps, had to settle for a placer and we appear to be in a minor lull at the moment, particularly on the winners front, but still plenty of time to rectify that.

There are two US fixtures for today, Fonner Park and Will Rogers Downs and if Carl’s contacts find anything of interest the selections will be added to the forum thread around 3pm this afternoon, so be sure to check your inbox for the email alert.

You can also follow along with the US racing via the Attheraces website, many thanks for your continued support and stay safe!
